If people were meant to pop out of bed, we'd all sleep in toasters.

With the Sun half-way through its month long cycle in Libra and the Moon fresh in the sign of Scorpio we may begin to get a feeling for the texture of these two markedly distinct energies. With both casting their spell over two of the most influential luminaries - the Sun and Moon - we are all due for some experiential 101 in these two signs (at least for the next couple days of this lunar transit). Of course where exactly the cusp of Libra and Scorpio lie in your chart will further tailor the interpretation to you personally (i.e. by house position), but everyone has Libra and Scorpio somewhere! If you know you have your Sun, Moon or Ascendant in one of these two signs, this may feel more like a lifelong balancing act than an ephemeral transiting of the luminaries
If we see the Zodiac as a meaningful procession of signs starting with Aries and ending with Pisces, we can start to understand how each sign can balance and enrich the expression of the previous sign. Scorpio (Oct. 24 - Nov. 2) follows Libra (Sept. 24th - Oct. 23rd) in the Zodiac and its territory expands upon the human experience, bringing our attention to areas not touched upon by Libra or any of the other preceding signs. So as close as these two constellations appear in the Zodiac and while it can be a mere number of hours which can separate a Libra from a Scorpio, if you think about the qualities that define these two signs, they couldn't be more different!
Libra, with its emphasis on social grace and "making nice", the Queen of cultivating relationships all while soaking in expensive bath salts brought home by her prince and then Scorpio...well sex, death and other peoples money (the tag line that follows its corresponding 8th house) may say it all. These two signs form a square (a tense 90-degree angle) and like with any squares, there will be competing agendas and the temptation to emphasize one over the other depending on what energy you're more comfortable with asserting. Consciousness and wisdom will be provide the bridge that doesn't compel us to favor one expression at the expense of the other. As we know, energy doesn't just go away - Scorpio and Libra will find a way to assert their principles - and results will be much more pleasant if you can become a bit more comfortable with the both the Libran and Scorpionic parts of yourself. Any two signs can work in harmony...some just may take a little more practice and test your tolerance for apparent conflict. Libra (Air/Cardinal) and Scorpio (Water/Fixed) aren't what you'd consider a natural fit but can really balance and enrich our expression if the qualities of each are honored.
So while the Sun transits for the last 15 degrees through the sign of the Peacemaker (until October 23rd), we can expect that our social network of relationships and our artistic brotherhood will find a way to influence our attention and impact our experience (you can look at where the cusp of Libra falls in your chart to get a better idea of the specific arena -- house -- where these themes will play out most significantly). The Moon in Scorpio may curb the gracious excesses of charming Libra but for the next 2 1/2 days while Lady Luna traipses with thick intent through this most provocative and passionate of signs, we may have to be aware of the shortcoming of "making nice" when the lunar mood suggests there is more than meets the eye beneath the surface. But then again, there always is. Scorpio will just drive that awareness home with the subtlety of well...a Scorpion. Every sign has an agenda and these two will collude hopefully for a magical combination where reaching out (Libra) and reaching the root (Scorpio) can share the same bed. Enjoy the complexity!
