Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins: What happened?

What in the stars could break apart Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins after 23 years together? Since they are both Libras, astrologically this split has Saturn -- the troublemaking planet of karma -- written all over it, as Saturn moved into Libra in late October.

Although this transit happened after their split, the effects begin in advance and as it goes, Saturn rules structure. Once it goes into one’s Sun sign (the place it was at birth) it causes the, “The Saturn Return” ... a testing time of one’s happiness, purpose and esteem. Think of this phase like having braces; it’s ugly and painful, but necessary if you want that perfect alignment.

While having Saturn in your Sun sign is a bit less stressful than having it go back to where you were born, which happens approximately every 30 years, its powers are still out for blood. In Tim and Susan’s case, this meant resorting their personal identities and reclaiming their independence, pointing to their break being about outgrowing one another rather than anything dramatic.
