"Every act of rebellion expresses a nostalgia for innocence and an appeal to the essence of being."
-- Albert Camus
When the planet likes to scream, punch and shout (Mars) squares off with the planet that likes to shake up the status quo when you least expect it (Uranus), get ready for some accident-making craziness.
There is an impulsive emotional sloppy-Joe energy to this mix. We may be surprised by the immediacy of tantrums that get thrown. The good news is that all of this happens so fast we can pretend it didn't even happen -- almost. Both of these planets are built for speed when it comes to channeling energy through our nervous systems.
The upside to this challenging mix of cardinal energies is the potential for breaking free of the level of dependency that Cancer requires to feel safe. Whether that's too much talking, drinking or simply sucking face, we have the opportunity to get back in touch with the independent streak of Aries. Even if it's in that childish I-don't-need-you-to-help-me-I-am-a-big-kid-now rebellious attitude -- which it probably is at the moment -- at least we're realizing how important it is to help ourselves out of the emotional dependencies that keep us acting a bit infantile despite our age.
The struggle between being there for the needs of our family (either of origin or adult design) and staying true to some of our more primitive instincts that others could deem as selfish is a bit agonizing now. The archetype of The Tower tarot card comes to mind, with people jumping out of a burning building that's been struck by the lightning of the divine.
Where are you being struck down by the gods? What is your current crisis or wake-up call that demands your utmost emotional attention and integrity? Where are you trapped by your own emotional dependency needs or family patterns? Don't wait for an accident to get your attention. The alarm has officially sounded!
