The world's on fire and It's more than I can handle. I'll tap into the water, try and bring my share. I try to bring more more than I can handle. Bring it to the table, bring what I am able - Sarah McLachlan (World on Fire)
Neptune is in retrograde, and schedule to go out of Pisces for one final visit to Aquarius on August 5th. It will then return to Pisces in February 2012, where it will remain until 2025 and buoy our imaginations as well as increase our appetite to escape.
What's the significance of Neptune? Some would argue to confuse us but of course even confusion plays an important role in our unfolding destinies. Everyone has a Neptune somewhere in their chart though depending on what house and what other planets are aspecting the Trident, some may experience as personally as much of the magic and consternation that Neptune offers. It is truly a bewitching planet for better or for worse.
In any case, our collective imagination will be shifting gears from Pisces back into to the sci-fi world of Aquarius in August for a last dip in that part of consciousness ruling technology & social connectivity. For those with Aquarius rising, or have an Aquarius Sun or Moon this months-long visitation could have you revisiting some long-winded and slippery catharsis that you thought you had finally understood and parted ways with. And for those with Pisces elements, you may find some temporary relief from the long hours logged in what feels like learning to breathe underwater. Whichever side of the fence you fall on, the Universe suggests the perfect timing of it all and that there is meaning and wisdom to be gleaned from Neptune's periodic grasp and release.
Neptune usually reminds us that we don't know everything but nonetheless seduces us to try and find the heartbeat of the unknowable and the ungraspable Universe. It can be heart opening and heart crushing as that which we open to makes us vulnerable. The other choice is to seal ourselves from sometimes painful epiphanies or escape through ignoring that we must balance our need to connect to something bigger than ourselves with paying bills and showing up for the more black and white in life. Neptune only paints in grey; there are no hard, fast realities and for the more earthy or driven among us it can be a tough lesson when our ability to "get ahead" in the way we're used to vaporizes before us. It's one of those of those seeming curses and we have to use a new set of eyes to see the silver lining. There always is one but we have to will ourselves to see it and if often means the dissolving of something to which we have grown too attached for our own good.
