Trouble in the Middle East: An Astrological Perspective

Tense times are here as missile strikes go back and forth between Gaza and Israel. Add to that, the Mayan calendar supposedly ends on December 21, 2012, and there’s been an onslaught of apocalyptic events, such as Hurricane Sandy, earthquakes throughout Central America and political sex scandals. All of this started after Saturn went into Scorpio on October 6, and Scorpio is the sign of death. What does it all mean?

Israel gained independence on May 14, 1948, making it a Taurus with a Scorpio Rising and a Leo Moon and mid-heaven. With Saturn in its First House, it is turning on the heat and wanting to show its dominance and power. Unfortunately, their latest show of aggression is going to last a long time, and a tenuous agreement might not be reached until November 28 when there’s a full Moon lunar eclipse in Gemini, which is in Israel’s natal Eighth House, which rules power, death, weapons and transformation. Plus, with Saturn in Scorpio squaring its mid-heaven, setting a foundation for its future is encouraged now, and if this is how it’s beginning, it shows that there will have to be more sacrifices before any agreement can be made.
