It dawned on me after a hard day, lots of prayers and looking at astrology to see if I could glean any cosmic insight into my human troubles, that sometimes the only way around something is through it. Like the planets above us, life is constantly in orbit; a vast network of connections and moments that we wish we could control more to our liking all the time. The truth is, maybe we're just not always supposed to feel good. And if we did, maybe we wouldn't appreciate all the nice moments. Our struggle gives our life texture and humility and those dark hours (or angsty, or self-conscious or insert your odious state here) are no less valuable.
It's so easy to cascade into a waterfall of over-used adages (ooops too late) like the darkness really is before the dawn. Maybe there's a lot of little darknesses and a lot of little dawns. Especially if your Moon is in Pisces! I was listening to that song by the Byrds:
To everything - turn, turn, turn There is a season - turn, turn, turn And a time for every purpose under heaven
A time of war, a time of peace A time of love, a time of hate A time you may embrace A time to refrain from embracing

Right before it came on, I realized I was up and out of my funk. Sometimes you just have to be in the funk to get to the other side. Or trust that the right information will come your way that will dispel the fog. In the meantime, maybe we just need to get over our love affair with being happy and content ALL THE TIME. Or not judge our bad moods as "bad" -- just passages of time, like the Moon through the sky.
Here's the part where I bring in astrology: the Sun is in Leo and the Moon was too until about 5 minutes ago. We're also in the season of the Pluto Uranus square and Uranus just made a trine to the Sun/New Moon in Leo a couple days ago. Meaning: we have to trust that whatever doesn't make us happy -- beliefs, attitudes, ways we are with other people, ways we are with ourselves -- are coming up so we can take a moment to get through it and cross to the other side.
We're being asked to expand and to contain experiences that maybe previously would have broken us, whereas now perhaps it's a bad day or just an afternoon of self-reflection, listening to music or letting whatever the mysterious "it" is run through our system. We are always growing. Trust the process and just do the best you can. It's not supposed to be perfect.
