Venus Enters Pisces: Sea of Love

Our goddess of beauty and love was not such a happy camper in the cold and detached fixed Air sign of Aquarius over the past few weeks. Sure, we learned how to step back and observe others with detachment, but all the logic and reason in the world won’t keep you warm at night.

Now that Venus is getting mushy in the sign of Pisces, all of that airy-fairy approach to relationships and creativity is about to shift. On the 25th, Venus joins the ranks of the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Neptune and Chiron in the sign of The Fish, the art of relating and connecting should move along more swimmingly (at least it will feel less robotic or scientific).

Venus is exalted in the sign of Pisces and thus creates some of her most subtle and sublime signatures while inhabiting this sign. Here is where we see some of the highest expressions of compassion, empathy, subtle healing, music and overall divinity -- yes, even in the human realm. The urge to merge is stronger than ever now with nearly every planet floating in the Piscean ocean.

This emphasis on Pisces has a way of dissolving boundaries between lovers making it easy to flow blissfully in perfect sync in that magical, non-verbal realm. The other side of Pisces is the abandonment complex, so there may be more victim scenarios getting played out between loved ones now. While Venus enters this sign, there can also be a sense that human relationships never match up to the god-like expectations we project on to them and we thus feel more alone, isolated and disillusioned than ever before.

As with the duality of the sign (two fish) there is usually some dance between the two. At times we will be dancing in oneness and ecstasy, and other times drowning in the depths of despair as we feel that painful longing in the depth of our being to return to a state of oneness. The current school of fish inspires us to embrace, feel and flow with all of it ... without judgment, without defenses, without fear.
