On September 22, the Autumn Equinox is a powerful day when we technically cross over from summer to fall. It's always sad to see summer go, but alas, the seasons must change and all good things must come to an end.
That said, some people cannot wait for the heat and humidity to end, and welcome the cooler days of work and productivity -- it just depends which side of the Equinox fence you're on.
This is the day the Sun crosses into Libra, and themes of balance, relationships, peace and harmony dominate our psyches. We may feel a part of us dying as we sense the days getting shorter and the nights getting longer (in the Northern Hemisphere).
Celebrate this brilliant once-a-year event when the light and dark are perfectly equal. Psychologically, this is in an invitation to not favor our solar nature (light) over our lunar nature (dark), or vice-versa. We have the opportunity to bring both sides of our nature into balance as we prepare for darker days over the next few months.
This is also an excellent time to bring all of our inner opposites, warring polarities and impossible dualities into balance. More simply stated: see what's out of balance in yourself, your body and your life, and use this harmonizing influence to seek more equilibrium and equipoise in your world.
