Aries, Sagittarius
The impulsive nature of these two Fire signs (one Cardinal and one Mutable) means that spending is top priority. If you can channel the spending urge into purchasing things like stocks (which come with a little risk that your competitive Fire energy loves) you’ll be able to combine the urge to splurge with putting money away for your future. Credit cards and sales are not your friend as they simply facilitate your buy-now-pay-later mentality.

Capricorn, Virgo, Cancer, Scorpio
These signs are typically practical with money. Virgo and Capricorn have the security-conscious Earth influence, which helps them think in the long-term. Scorpios like to stay in control, so don’t spend unnecessarily. Cancer is cautious and thrifty. Saving is almost second-nature to these signs, and if this is you, you might need to be encouraged to indulge a little more frequently.

Gemini, Pisces
Somewhat flighty signs, Gemini and Pisces are easily distracted, so clear planning is a must. Gemini’s weakness is communication devices and clothing. Pisces spends when money is plentiful, and can lay low when it’s not. Both signs need a routine where saving comes first to ensure that they have something left over for the future.

Libra, Aquarius
Relatively focussed Air signs, Libra and Aquarius can be enticed to spend on entertainment or technology, but they have the discipline to overcome any spending impulses. Using data to create a budget helps you stay on track with savings goals. As the most human of the signs, you’re better able to apply the mind-over-matter principle.

Taurus, Leo
Both Taurus and Leo like nice things, but with slightly different intentions. Earth-sign Taurus craves comfort and quality, and will shop around to get the best value for their money. Dynamic Leo’s love of luxury means they can get lured into buying because of a brand name. Both Taurus and Leo are Fixed signs and keep an eye on long-term security. Being able to save for the future and spend to enjoy life in the present is possible for both of these signs.
