She took Hollywood by storm with her riveting, Oscar-nominated performance in the 2009 drama Precious. Plus, she created an even bigger impression in the media -- her confidence, grace and sense of humor have practically made her into a household name. Naysayers (like shock-jock Howard Stern) may say that this is the last we’ll see of Gabby and that her moment in the spotlight was tantamount to a one-hit wonder. However, already in the works is an upcoming movie with Zoë Kravitz, Yelling To The Sky, and a gig on a new Showtime series, The C-Word.
So what happens now that the Oscars are over? As with all Taurus’s like Gabby, continuing to climb up the ladder of success this year will mean stepping out of her comfort zone. Also, since Gabby’s Mars is also in Taurus, this approach will be doubly relevant. Her best bet may be relocating (perhaps she’ll consider Broadway) or having a complete image makeover -- or even testing new performance genres or methods. Whatever the case, fate is in her hands as the Precious star sets out to prove she’s more than a one-trick-pony.
