You already know just how important it is to make a good first impression on a job interview or in those first days in a new office – but did you know that what color your wear could influence whether or not you actually get the gig? Let the principals of Feng Shui help steer you toward stellar success!

The main two colors you should concern yourself with are navy blue or red. Probably best not to do them together … even if you're up for a sweet spot on Capital Hill! Filter your chosen blue or red item with some sort of white anything -- except shoes. Don't ever wear white shoes! Even if it’s 100 degrees outside, never wear white shoes for any career occasions.

According to Feng Shui, red equals 'fame' or recognition, respect, rewards. It’s heat and fire

Navy blue is the color of 'career' and how the energies equate to jobs, self-respect and your life’s journey. Water -- it's all about flow.

White represents 'creativity' and wearing it will help you be sure that you're chock full of the same.

And, even though black usually works for any occasion, this is not a good color for career strategizing. That said, a black skirt with a red sweater would be fine … as long as you're not wearing white shoes!

Red, white and blue -- freedom -- in the job hunt! You’re sure to smoke your competition, and from the minute you walk into the interview room, you’ll be flagged as the prime candidate. Embrace the power of color and make a huge impact in all your career pursuits -- one outfit at a time!
