Last year was busy. Amazingly busy. It was as if I was jumping (or falling) from one crisis to the next.
Knowing that I was running a project that would end in my own redundancy also took an emotional toll. Whilst it didn’t show on the outside, I was a mass of uncertainty and fear. I knew that I had to keep going until the end, stay strong, and do everything I was being paid to do. I also knew that with the end I had chosen would be a beginning that I had both been looking forward to and was running away scared from.
By the end of the year the inevitable had happened- I had put on weight again. Worse than that (yes, there is worse than that), my creativity had dried up and run away with my self- confidence.
My BMF remarked that I had obviously stopped training. I had, but what did that have to do with anything?
‘I can always tell when you stop training, Jo. You become flat and lose your animation. When you are training nothing is too hard, when you’re not, you don’t believe in yourself at all.’
Wow. All true.
All signs dive into their shadow when under stress. In the case of Pisces we do this through the worst of our own sign and the extremes of our opposite. Think indispensable, victim, martyr, no one else can do it, escape mentality. In looking for a little of the best of Virgo, we dive in too far. We do too much for others and ignore our own needs.
In my case, I concentrate so much on the work and the detail that my real skill- the big picture- gets ignored. In my efforts to do too much, I stop exercising. And that’s where the trouble starts.
Pisces has a naturally sluggish system. We are the junk collectors of the zodiac (in more ways than one) and don’t tend to have the strongest of constitutions. To keep our system moving, we need to move, we need some fire. And that’s where our 2nd house Aries comes in.
Fire and movement keeps us creative. It is that simple. It sounds trite, but a Pisces under stress needs to find and challenge her inner warrior. Sure we escape, but we can do it in an Aries sweaty way rather than through bad food, too much alcohol or whatever else might be your running away route of choice.
When your emotional bank is depleted, it’s time to recharge the creativity. And don’t tell me you have none! Whether it is photography (my particular passion), painting, cooking, writing, dancing, drama, craft activities, whatever…schedule in the time to do it- even if it means saying “no” to someone.
Move more. Sweat a bit. Make yourself feel uncomfortable. Challenge your physical boundaries. Pisces under stress, meet your Aries 2nd house.
