The Year of (Virgos) Living Dangerously

by Astrology Detective June 27, 2011 12:22 PM EST
First it was Charlie Sheen, then it was Anthony Weiner....It is hard to imagine that 2 of this year's biggest, most explosive scandals were committed by the normally impeccable sign of Virgo.

Virgo is a private sign that likes to keep things under control. That is not to say that they are as prim and proper as they appear, but appearance is key. They are normally private and calculating enough to keep their naughtiness on the down low and out of the public eye. Virgo is one of those "Belle de Jour" signs – they often lead double lives, but are smart enough (or afraid enough) not to get caught. They play by the rules on the surface, but once the doors are locked, anything goes. If they were to have a motto, it would be: "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas..."

Early last March, Uranus, the planet of surprise and change, moved into Virgo's scandalous eighth house of sex and money. Wherever Uranus roams, things that have been pent-up and repressed break loose, often in a sudden and shocking manner. Uranus wants the truth to get out and see the light of day and won't let up until it does. So one little misclick on Twitter can lead to one of the most bizarre (non)sex scandals of the year.

Uranus will spend another 7 years in this sector Virgo's chart, so we can expect to have more of the wild underbelly of this seemingly demure sign come out in the open.

So you Virgos out there may want to be doubly cautious when getting up to your dirty deeds, or things could  spiral out of control and your sharing could rapidly morph into oversharing – so call off the press conferences and retreat instead into your safe room.
