Yes or No Tarot

Sometimes, the best kind of advice cuts right to the heart of the matter. When you simply want a “yes or no” to a particular question, tarot can provide you with a clear-cut outcome.

Of course, the most effective answers come from asking the right questions, so the first step in getting to “yes or no” involves fine-tuning the question that you want answered.

Once you’ve arrived at your question, it’s only a few simple steps before you can get an answer by doing a “yes or no” reading. This straightforward process can give you all the insight you need to resolve a current problem. All you need is three cards, (though you’ll need a full deck to choose from; click here to find a deck that resonates with you), a pen and a piece of paper
.

What’s Your Question?

There is an art to asking the best questions for intuitive readings in order to get the most beneficial results. First, write down the “yes or no” question you want answered. For example, you might ask, “Are Josh and I going to get back together?”

Now, when you do the reading and ask this question, you might get a “yes” answer -- and perhaps you and Josh do get back together, but only for a night of confusing ex-sex. This is probably not what you really wanted to know. Going deeper with your question, what you really might want to ask is: “Will I find long-lasting love with Josh?” Or even, “Will I find a happy and successful relationship?”

Once you’ve written your initial question, take some time to fine tune it and get down to the essence of what you really want to know. This way, the answers you get will be all-the-more meaningful. You might need to write several questions down before you hit the one that most describes your situation.

Pick Your Cards

Shuffle a deck of tarot cards so that they are well blended, with the images pointing in both directions rather than straightening them so they’re all right-side up. Meditate on your question as you mix the cards.

Cut the deck into three piles and pick one card from each pile. Lay these cards out exactly the way they appear; if one is upside down, keep it that way.

Analyze Your Answer

Two or more cards right-side up indicates a “yes” answer to your question. All three cards right side up are a strong “yes”.

Two or more cards upside-down indicate a “no” answer to your question. All three cards upside-down are a strong “no”.

You can gain more insight about the details of your “yes or no” answer by looking at the three cards that are involved in the reading. Major Arcana cards indicate that this is a major life lesson for you. Minor Arcana cards show that this is a passing situation and one that you can move through easily.
