April 10: Mercury enters Aries

Strong words and sentiments

The moon is sextile both, Pluto at 5:15 a.m., and Jupiter at 6:08 a.m., and is trine Mercury at 12:35 p.m.

Friday is another busy day brimming with planetary aspects to navigate, beginning with a supportive sextile between the waning gibbous moon in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn. Potent emotional awareness is in phase with the somber and somewhat dire topics of our times. Shortly after, the moon shifts into a sextile with Jupiter in Capricorn, coming into a collaborative connection with the planet of expansion and growth. Keen intuition melds well with the work of steady, sustainable growth, and offers the patient, receptive mood that is needed now. By noon, the Scorpio moon comes into a water trine with Mercury in Pisces, heightening intuition and lending a compassionate mood to our conversations.

The moon enters Sagittarius at 1:35 p.m., and is sextile Saturn at 3:37 p.m.

In the early afternoon, the mood heats up and becomes more active as the moon leaves the fixed waters of Scorpio for the mutable fires of Sagittarius. In the lunar cycle of expansion and contraction through the alternating active and receptive signs, we have another two days of action and enthusiastic expression. After the deep inward reflection of the moon in Scorpio, we may feel more like breaking out to roam and follow our curiosity. Even though this may not be through physical travel, it could happen through journeys of the imagination, and delving into absorbing new knowledge.

Mercury enters Aries at 9:48 p.m.

The fiery theme of the moment is further amplified by Mercury’s passage out of Pisces into individualistic Aries. This shift will likely be palpable, as Mercury first entered empathic Pisces way back on February 3, went retrograde through Aquarius on March 4, and then went back through Pisces again since March 16—so it’s been since last year that we’ve had the messenger planet in a hot and active fire sign. The shift into the most volatile fire sign of all may bring strong words and sentiments to the foreground, likely the result of bottled tensions coming from managing difficulties from a cool or detached position for a long time. This shift may feel like letting off some pressurized steam, which will be a relief, and also, a bit of a rude awakening.
