April 2: The moon enters Leo

 Amplifying potent emotions

The moon is opposite Jupiter at 1:49 a.m.

In the very early morning, the moon in Cancer forms an opposition with Jupiter in Capricorn, heightening and amplifying potent emotions. Jupiter loves to expand and grow, and this year, it’s working through Capricorn, the sign connected to practicality and material power. The moon in polarity to Jupiter highlights how we are feeling about the growth that Jupiter is stimulating, giving us an opportunity to pause, look within, and assess the energetic and emotional toll this is taking.

Shortly after, the moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn, continuing to draw deep emotions up to the surface in light of the profound restructuring that is occurring in the world. Then at 9:49 a.m., the moon forms a sextile with Venus in Taurus, starting the day off with feelings of love, benevolence, and acceptance.

The moon enters Leo at 11:26 a.m.

Later in the morning, the lunar mood shifts from one that was watery and moody, to one that is fiery and bold, when the moon moves out of insular Cancer into passionate Leo. This can typically set a restless and playful tone for the two days the moon is in the lion’s sign, encouraging us to emerge from solitude and self-nurturing to confidently connect with the world around us. It’s a good day to take a creative approach to our work and conversations, but we must beware that these may get a little heated and polarizing when the moon opposes Saturn, and then Mars in Aquarius in the later afternoon. There could be an issue that has been simmering that needs to be confronted today, with new agreements and boundaries drawn.

The moon is square Uranus at 8:40 p.m.

By the evening, the moon freshly shifted into Leo comes into a triggering square aspect with Uranus in sturdy Taurus. Uranus is the planet of sudden occurrences, so this may indicate a surprise or shock that we have to navigate tonight. An hour later, the moon forms a fire trine with Chiron in Aries, ending the day on a note of soulful healing. Much has come to surface in the past few days, but this aspect hints that it’s leading to deeper resolutions.
