April 5: The moon is opposite Neptune

Ambivalence can be interesting

The moon is inconjunct Chiron at 12:04 a.m.

The Virgo moon forms an inconjunct aspect with Chiron in Aries just past midnight. This aspect of no aspect highlights two planetary forces that are in signs that have nothing modally or elementally in common and can be interesting to consider. In essence, it’s a signature of the earthy and composed lunar forces of the moment being somewhat out of phase with the fiery, impulsive archetype that Chiron is illuminating in Aries. It presents a fleeting puzzle to explore. We could ask ourselves at this time “what emotional states am I trying to contain and control?” It’s these uncomfortable, and inconvenient states that may yield the most insight if we are willing to relax self-judgment and be willing to surrender to a deeper healing process.

The moon is inconjunct the sun at 5:12 p.m.

The theme of inconjunct emotions continues as the moon shifts to form this quizzical aspect with the sun, also in primal Aries. The sun represents our perceptions and what we are able to work within our conscious awareness, while the moon represents all that is hidden and instinctive that comes up from our inner world. When the two lights of awareness are momentarily out of phase by sign, it can present as an edgy, uncanny feeling, that is hard to locate or describe. This state of ambivalence can be interesting and fruitful to examine as we resist an urge to distract ourselves into taking any reflexive action—at least for the time being. What comes up in the spaces between today may be what we’ve been looking for.

The moon is opposite Neptune at 9:38 p.m.

By the evening, the grounded and orderly Virgo moon comes into polarity with nebulous Neptune. This opposition can represent how we are trying to bring our ideals and dreams down into the material plane, enacting these with tangible rituals and habits. Grand spiritual imaginings need a bodily container—when nurturing ourselves, our energy, and health can help us embody what we aspire to channel into our world.
