August 15: An Opportunity to Make Peace
The moon is conjunct Venus at 6:26 a.m.
Uranus goes retrograde at 7:25 a.m.
The moon is square Chiron at 9:05 a.m.
Early Saturday, the powerfully nurturing moon forms a conjunction with Venus in Cancer. This aspect is potent and beneficial and has enormous potential for healing in our relationships and within ourselves. The moon and Venus are two of the most generous and protective cosmic forces, and having them come together in Cancer is truly lucky.
We may want to observe this auspicious aspect in some way, by setting up a lunar altar and meditating on the healing powers of the moon and Venus combined. This aspect reconnects us to our hearts and opens compassionate pathways of communication. If we have been experiencing conflict lately, the moon/Venus conjunction in Cancer offers an opportunity to make peace, helping us be more receptive to apologies.
Uranus, the planet of revolution and invention, goes retrograde today. Uranus’ path around the sun is long, and it often goes retrograde, so this change in direction may not be felt prominently. Nevertheless, Uranus is a somewhat unpredictable and volatile planet, so retrograde motion may somewhat increase its variable quality. Uranus will be retrograde for the rest of 2020, adding another layer of surprises and upsets in an already difficult year. Uranus reminds us that the only constant in the universe is change, so if we can somehow make our peace with this, we can manage our expectations and minimize our suffering whenever possible.
The moon in vulnerable Cancer forms a square aspect with Chiron in Aries, opening up a sensitive topic or feeling around the wounds that we carry. We may have to face a raw edge in our growth and healing now that is tender but that will help us long-term if we deal with it thoroughly. Strong and perhaps overwhelming feelings of shame and regret that may require therapeutic support may surface now.
The moon is sextile Uranus Rx at 12:18 p.m.
The morning of mixed aspects may produce new insight and awareness as the moon in Cancer forms a supportive sextile with Uranus in Taurus. We may experience a bolt of inspiration that opens us up to a new level of adaptive capabilities. This new awareness may be surprising, or sudden, but will help us embrace the impermanent nature of the universe in a way that is empowering.
