January 28: Mars is square Neptune

Potent dreams, compassion and sensitivity

The moon is square Mars at 1:30 a.m., and conjunct Neptune at 1:34 a.m.

In the wee hours, while most of us are likely sleeping, the imaginative moon in Pisces comes into two aspects at once; a square with Mars in Sagittarius and a conjunction with Neptune. It’s an interesting push-pull effect that catalyzes emotion and action, yet at the same time, the moon melts into the transcendental field of Neptune. It could make for some potent dreams, where challenges play out in symbolic form so that we can integrate these on a deep, unconscious soul level.

Mars is square Neptune at 2:34 a.m.

A little later, Mars in Sagittarius comes into a perfect catalyzing square aspect with Neptune in Pisces. It’s an instance of impulsivity and initiative causing friction against the long, slow processes of the universe unfolding. As we wake, we may feel a strange underlying angst that carries through the day, where we find ourselves working to keep our drive from overpowering our intuition, or from keeping our intuition from clouding our drive.

The moon is conjunct Venus at 3:02 a.m.

The dreamy, waxing moon comes into a conjunction with Venus exalted in Pisces, adding a compassionate, loving, and meditative mood to the early morning. It is another aspect that could add to the potency of the dream state, taking us deep into vivid colors and pictorials that carry over to inspire us during the day. It’s an aspect where emotional sensitivity and deep love and understanding come together, so it’s a great time to show comforting affection to those we love and share the sweet sentiments that we carry in our hearts. These gestures will go a long way to heal, soothe, and foster intimacy.
