June 12: An Imaginative and Otherworldly Mood
The moon is trine Mercury at 5:07 a.m.
During the early morning hours, we have an empathic water trine aspect between the moon in soulful Pisces and Mercury in nurturing Cancer. This trine may provide the conditions to express our deepest feelings today as we hold a supportive and therapeutic conversation. It may potentially help some of us put our elusive feelings into words to help us access empathy and compassion. This water trine aspect is active for most of the day, but may be most potent in the morning.
The moon is conjunct Mars at 7:13 p.m.
The moon is conjunct Neptune at 7:51 p.m.
The moon is square the sun at 11:24 p.m.
By the evening, the cosmic weather shifts as the insular Pisces moon forms a conjunction with both Mars and Neptune, who are almost precisely conjunct in Pisces. This grouping of planetary energies creates a strange mix of receptive forces with powerful urges that seem to be having a tug of war effect on each other.
The meditative moon with assertive Mars creates a need to retreat, while at the same time, activating drive and action. It could be that this drive is turned inward, toward boldly contemplating the interior imagination—alternatively, it could take the form of acting emotionally and impulsively without being grounded in reality.
The imaginative and otherworldly mood is amplified when the moon joins Neptune shortly after. This conjunction is a plunge into the deep oceanic depths of the soul, a state that is excellent for meditation and creativity, but not conducive for productivity or for being time conscious. It’s a well-timed aspect, since it coincides with the evening, when we are letting go of the structure of the day. It may be an enjoyable evening for divination, listening to a healing soundscape, or submerging in a deep bath to soak out our frustrations.
Just before midnight, the moon in Pisces forms a perfect mutable square with the sun in Gemini. This square marks the final quarter phase of the lunar journey and a time of wrapping up the intentions of this cycle. From here until the new moon on Sunday, lunar forces will begin to wane and settle, preparing to reset.
