June 29: Reflecting and Contemplating
The moon is square Pluto at 5:55 a.m.
The moon is square Jupiter at 6:02 a.m., and moon void of course begins
The airy and social Libran moon forms a square aspect with both Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn, blending the effects of both of these two squares. Pluto and Jupiter will be perfectly conjunct tonight, and the lunar energies are bringing this configuration to our emotional attention.
Pluto represents truths coming to light, while Jupiter is working on expanding optimism, making the mood of the moment a little tense and anxious, as if we can all feel something significant is about to happen.
At the same time, the moon void of course begins, making this an uncertain time to start anything new until later in the afternoon.
The moon enters Scorpio at 3:48 p.m., and moon void of course ends
The moon is square Saturn at 4:01 p.m.
As the day continues, the moon shifts into potent and penetrating Scorpio, the water sign of deep psychic inquiry. The mood now shifts away from being light and social, into being more reflective, contemplative, and brooding. With the sun and Mercury in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces, the water element is strong in the cosmic make-up. It’s a sensitive time, with many of us feeling self-protective and even a bit defensive. The moon in Scorpio can be useful for self-inquiry and retreat, but it can also be a moody and somewhat depressive time.
The mood may intensify as the moon comes into an edgy square aspect with stern Saturn in Aquarius. We may be coming up against feelings of isolation, limitation, and frustration for a while this evening. The moon void of course has ended, making this an excellent time to focus on a satisfying, constructive project to avoid getting caught in self-critical thoughts or worries.
Jupiter is conjunct Pluto at 10:46 p.m.
Late-night, Jupiter and Pluto, now both retrograde, form the second of three conjunctions this year. Tonight’s conjunction maybe a revisit to themes that became active the last time these two potent planets were conjunct on April 5.
Jupiter represents the financial picture for 2020, and in Capricorn, it’s been limited, coinciding with the economic pause while the world fights the viral crisis at hand. Pluto represents hidden and transformative truths that come to light that have an irreversible effect on the collective psyche.
Today may coincide with new laws and financial developments in the world economy, as well as world leaders making some pivotal new decisions. Since both Jupiter and Pluto are retrograde, this conjunction may also represent some setbacks in progress if new roadblocks or difficulties present. At any rate, we are all coming to terms with the ways we need to manage our resources for the long-term while we ride out the storm.
