March 10: The moon enters Libra

The moon is trine Saturn at 1:32 a.m.

In the wee hours, the attentive lunar energies of the moon in Virgo form a supportive earth trine with Saturn in Capricorn. It occurs while most of us will be sleeping, yet it may indicate a sense that cosmic energies are stabilized for the moment, with our emotions and sense of duty and commitment flowing in cooperative harmony. We may have a window here in which to feel productive, renewing our commitment to a long-term goal. This could come together in our dream world, with earthy, constructive symbols appearing that help us feel some as though practical matters are becoming integrated into our awareness.

The moon enters Libra at 3:03 a.m.

As the very early morning continues to unfold, the moon shifts out of Virgo’s earthy and organized world into fair and peaceful Libra. The moon in air signs shifts our feelings and energies away from inward-focused reflections, and back into the outer world of sociability and conversation. Libra is ruled by Venus, who loves to join, connect, and mend differences, so it may support an overall good feeling and balanced emotions. The moon is still quite full of light, so the need to reach out and connect with others may be particularly strong.

The moon is opposite Chiron at 10:05 a.m., and square the nodes of the moon at 11:05 a.m.

Later in the morning, some interesting lunar aspects form, that speak to the transformative and soul-healing themes of the moment. The moon in diplomatic Libra comes into opposition with Chiron in primal Aries, indicating that our connections with others today may illuminate an opportunity to address an old wound. The sort of wounds that Chiron represents are the ones that never totally heal per se, but that we learn how to nurture and manage, for the compassion and empathy that keep us open to experience life. An hour later, the Libra moon moves into an exact square with its own lunar nodes, highlighting a significant moment for many of us in our karmic journeys. The square aspect between the lunar nodes is called “the bending” and highlights turning points in our emotional awareness. Those with significant cardinal sign placements in their charts may feel this aspect most personally today.
