May 14: Following Our Creative Visions

May 14: Following Our Creative Visions

Moon is trine Venus Rx at 2:20 a.m.

Moon is square the sun at 7:03 a.m., and moon void of course begins

Overnight, the Aquarian moon forms a pleasant air trine aspect with Venus, now retrograde, in Gemini. For those who happen to be awake, this represents a fleeting passage of good feeling and creative inspiration.

As the sun rises, the moon moves into a square aspect with the sun, forming the last quarter phase of the lunar cycle. From here on until the new moon of May 22, we are entering the final week of the lunar cycle, where energy and emotion are turned to the last tasks that we may need to resolve along with the themes that have personally been set in motion for us all. At the same time, the moon void of course begins and lasts all day, making this a good time to tend to tasks already in motion, rather than starting or committing to anything new, just yet.

Jupiter goes retrograde at 7:32 a.m.

Shortly after, the next major planetary retrograde of May, and the entire year, gets underway with Jupiter, the benevolent planet of expansion and opportunity, stationing retrograde. Since Jupiter moves rather slowly on its course around the sun, taking a year to cross one sign, Jupiter stays in Capricorn until December 19.

This time of retrograde is a pause and a deepening of the work that Jupiter is propelling into motion this year regarding our material resources. This change in speed may not feel too abrupt or dramatic but can symbolize a time of conserving energy and becoming more resourceful with our livelihood. Jupiter in Capricorn often occurs during times of economic contraction, so it reminds us to be careful and conservational with our reserves.

Moon enters Pisces at 6:24 p.m., and moon void of course ends

Moon is conjunct Mars at 9:06 p.m.

Sun is trine Pluto Rx at 11:49 p.m.

By the evening, the moon moves into soulful, empathic Pisces. At the same time, the moon void of course ends, opening us back up to opportunity and new beginnings in our projects. As the night continues, the moon in emotive Pisces joins Mars in this mutable water sign, melding potent emotions and psychic forces with drive and initiative. This may be an evening of acting on a feeling, out of our instincts and intuition, to express our deepest emotions and follow our creative visions.

Just before midnight, the sun in steady Taurus forms an earth trine with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, hinting that our energies can now be applied to deep transformation.
