May 24: Shifting Feelings and Thoughts
Moon is conjunct Mercury at 4:09 a.m., and moon void of course begins
Moon is inconjunct Pluto Rx at 6:19 a.m.
Moon is inconjunct Jupiter at 10:38 a.m.
Perhaps a continuation of what was set in motion during yesterday’s moon/Venus conjunction, today’s moon/Mercury conjunction in Gemini crystallizes thought and awareness around vivid emotions. Emotions may flood our perceptions, influencing our impulses and decisions.
Since the moon and Mercury are the fastest moving planets, and Gemini is a mutable, adaptable sign, this could be experienced as rapidly shifting feelings and thoughts. It’s an aspect that could put thought and feeling together in a kind of flow state, but could also heighten a tendency to analyze emotions when trying to get a handle on them.
As the moon drifts further to form an inconjunct angle with both transformative Pluto, and expansive Jupiter later this morning, we may feel for a time that the current lunar mood and activity is out of phase with the bigger picture topics of the year.
Moon enters Cancer at 4:09 p.m., and moon void of course ends
In the late afternoon, the moon shifts from an active, sociable sign, into one more insular, reflective, and protective when it moves into emotive Cancer. The moon is in its watery domicile in this cardinal sign as she accesses her most potent lunar powers here.
After the morning’s kinetic merging of the moon with Mercury in Gemini, the impulse may be to retreat and recharge for the rest of the day. We can take advantage of the moon’s strong restorative powers now by doing homey activities like cooking, tidying, and then cuddling up with a book or a sentimental film.
Moon is inconjunct Saturn Rx at 7:32 p.m.
Mercury is inconjunct Pluto Rx at 9:26 p.m.
Mars is sextile Uranus at 11:48 p.m.
As the day flows into night, the moon forms an inconjunct angle with Saturn, symbolizing a momentary retreat and disconnect from the outer world, and an opportunity to channel the moon’s restorative forces toward our own self-care.
Soon after, Mercury in active Gemini also is inconjunct Pluto, driving away thoughts of worry and deeper concerns, at least for now.
Then, just before midnight, Mars forms a cooperative sextile aspect with Uranus in steady Taurus. While the Mars/Uranus square that happened back in April corresponded to further global upsets, this aspect looks to be much more manageable. Forces of initiative and the protection of the vulnerable flow well with innovations that may appear as sudden, surprising solutions.
All the aspects mentioned are calculated in Standard Pacific Time, for greater accuracy please adjust to your own location.
