May 4: Make or Break Moments
Moon enters Libra at 12:09 a.m., and moon void of course ends
Moon is square the lunar nodes at 12:18 a.m.
Moon is trine Saturn at 3:15 a.m.
Moon is inconjunct Uranus at 11:32 a.m.
Early Monday morning holds some rather active cosmic skies. Just after midnight, the waning moon moves into peaceable Libra, opening up the early week for socialization after a mostly grounded weekend. At this point, the moon void of course ends, right on time to begin a potentially productive week.
Shortly after, a very interesting lunar passage occurs, when the moon in Libra forms a T-square with the lunar nodes. This position is called being at the “bending” of the lunar orbit, and in this case, it represents the moon descending toward the lunar south node. It highlights the sensitive lunar node axis with a make or break moment, hinting at the upcoming nodal sign shift.
Soon after, the moon in balanced Libra forms an air trine with Saturn in Aquarius, stabilizing and optimizing our social and emotional expressions. It happens very early but may help set the tone for the start of the day.
In the later morning, the moon in Venus-ruled Libra forms an inconjunct angle with Uranus in earthy Taurus, creating a quizzical feeling. The calm and connected emotional tone is a bit out of step with the radical energies of the moment, but it’s a fleeting, temporary state.
Moon is opposite Chiron at 12:23 p.m.
Mercury is conjunct the sun at 2:42 p.m.
Shortly after noon, the moon in diplomatic Libra forms an opposition with Chiron in impulsive Aries. The opposition aspect brings two planetary bodies into a confrontation, where they are forced to see each other head-on. This polarizing exchange between the moon and the asteroid of soul healing illuminates the way that balanced emotional states help us to access our raw wounds that are ongoing or have been unattended for a while. It’s an invitation to be with what is, without judgement.
A few hours later, Mercury in Taurus moves into a conjunction in the heart of the sun. This helps us to reset and clarify our intentions moving forward, burning away anything that obstructs mental clarity, or perception.
The lunar nodes shift into Gemini/Sagittarius at 10:49 p.m.
Late night, the lunar nodes shift on their axis, leaving Cancer/Capricorn behind to activate Gemini/Sagittarius until 2022. The nodal axis is the polar opposite points in the sky where the orbit of the moon and the earth intersect, and are the areas where lunar and solar eclipses occur. This sets a new stage for themes related to communications and authenticity to play out in the eclipse season of 2020.
