November 6: Heavy Feelings

November 6: Heavy Feelings

Mercury is square Saturn at 1:12 a.m.

After midnight, Mercury in harmonious Libra squares off with stoic Saturn in Capricorn. With many of us asleep, this transit may manifest in Kafka-esque dreamscapes. Circular conversations and frustrating delays create the persistent impression that we are never quite able to get where we are trying to go. Attempting to reason with surreal characters only leaves us feeling hopeless. We may awaken on the wrong side of the bed, with the lingering feeling that a point still needs to be proved or a task needs to be accomplished.

The moon is opposite Jupiter at 8:01 a.m.

The moon is opposite Pluto at 9:41 a.m.

In the morning, the Cancer moon forms an opposition to Jupiter in Capricorn. This is a decent transit for socializing, however, this influence also has the effect of amplifying emotions, so be cognizant of your attitude and manners. Arrogance or overconfidence could leave you vulnerable to criticism from jealous parties.

Shortly thereafter, the moon and Pluto in Capricorn oppose, creating an atmosphere of intensity. At this time, we have greater insight into the origins of our psychological hang-ups, self-defeating patterns, and addictive behaviors. Shadow work may not put you in the most gregarious headspace, but this is a valuable opportunity to confront emotional blockages that are holding you back from happiness.

The moon is opposite Saturn at 4:52 p.m.

In the evening, the moon forms an opposition with Saturn in Capricorn. During this alignment, it is natural to feel lonely and defeated, and after a day spent addressing personal shadows, some of us may opt to head to bed early! For those who elect to fight through the heavy feels, seek solace in structure, and remind yourself that this brief transit that will quickly pass. If all else fails, avail yourself of Cancer moon self-care, such as making a meal that you love or drawing a soothing bath.

The moon is square Mercury at 8:27 p.m., and moon void of course begins

The moon enters Leo at 11:18 p.m., and moon void of course ends

Shortly thereafter, the moon squares off with Mercury and the void of course moon begins. It is time for rest and reset. Permit yourself to go quiet, close social media, and put the phone on silent. Acknowledge the validity of unpleasant feelings and know that some days it is okay to feel grumpy. Emotions are healthy! It is when we take our emotions out on others that we make trouble for ourselves.

This is a perfect influence for journaling, so get anxious thoughts out of your brain and on to paper. Write a letter to your ex best friend or toxic family member detailing everything you’ve ever wanted to say—and then DON’T send it. Relieve yourself of the burden of holding on to old resentments, as they are only hurting you.

Just before midnight, the moon slides into Leo, ending the moon’s void of course and promising lighter moods and a sunnier atmosphere tomorrow.
