October 30: Picking Our Battles
The moon is square Saturn at 6:30 a.m.
Friday’s planetary aspects begin just before sunrise with an uncomfortable moon/Saturn square. The moon is still in fiery Aries, stirring up enthusiasm but also relentlessness. This nervous energy may feel frustrated and blocked when the moon’s square with Saturn becomes exact. We may feel challenged to reign in our intense, reactive tendencies now, as Saturn pushes back to remind us to set healthy emotional boundaries and tend to our self-regulation.
This moon/Saturn square may also show us where we are wasting our energy, reminding us to work smarter and pick our battles so that we do not burn out. This lesson may be tough to absorb right now if we feel determined to conquer an obstacle, yet sometimes, retreat leads us to real victory.
The moon is opposite Mercury Rx at 9:12 a.m., and moon void of course begins
We explore the concept of “retreat leading to victory” further with Friday’s next transit, the Aries moon opposite Mercury. Mercury is moving retrograde and has come back to peaceable Libra, giving us a chance to review our communications. We may get a re-do of any challenging issues that came up in September when Mercury was last in Libra.
This time around, we can go back into any conversations where we kept our composure, trying to maintain peace, yet notice if we missed an opportunity to stick up for ourselves. We may get a second chance today, or at the very least, we may reflect on this topic and absorb a personal lesson. The moon has now gone void of course until the afternoon, which is the right timing for pause and readjustment.
The moon enters Taurus 2:19 p.m., and moon void of course ends
Friday’s last planetary shift is the moon’s exit from fiery Aries, to enter earthy and abundant Taurus. The moon void of course ends now, so the weekend is open for embarking on new endeavors. However, the weekend’s primary endeavor is rest and rejuvenation under the exalted Taurus moon, as we recharge after an active and edgy few days under the Aries moon. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, who is currently at home in harmonious Libra, so this moon holds a unique power to restore hope, happiness, and love.
