October 9: Power Struggles and Potent Dreams
The moon is sextile Uranus Rx at 3:14 a.m.
The moon is trine Mercury at 5:03 a.m.
Mars Rx is square Pluto at 6:09 a.m.
Very early morning, the sensitive Cancer moon forms a sextile aspect with Uranus in Taurus. This passage could promote a spark of sudden insight if we happen to be awake at this hour. This sextile should also play out in our dreamscape as potent or unusual symbols that inspire new insight.
The Cancer moon moves further along, to form a supportive water trine with Mercury in potent Scorpio. This moon/Mercury water trine could add an undercurrent of empathic communications and heightened intuition to the early morning hours. This watery energy can help us express our deepest emotions and feelings and facilitate the support we need now.
It also provides an empathic connection that can help buffer the next aspect of the day. That’s an abrasive square between Mars in head-strong Aries and Pluto in resolute Capricorn. This challenging aspect is a second Mars/Pluto square and is a repeat of the one that occurred on August 13 when Mars was moving direct. Any difficulties or power struggles that flared up then may return now to be sorted out again.
The moon is square the sun at 5:40 p.m.
Late afternoon, the Cancer moon forms a square angle to the Libra sun, marking the beginning of the moon’s last quarter phase. If we were to look up at the moon at night, we would see a perfect half-moon in the sky. This last quarter moon is when lunar energies are beginning to wind down, but this square may be one final push of energy to wrap up the lunar cycle.
The moon is opposite Jupiter at 8:17 p.m.
The moon is trine Neptune Rx at 8:44 p.m.
By evening, the protective Cancer moon forms an opposition with Jupiter in steady Capricorn. This aspect may have the effect of amplifying emotions, as it brings the themes of vulnerability into polarity with expansion and growth. Soon after, the moon forms a water trine with Neptune in soulful Pisces, carrying us off to a potent world of dreams and imagination.
All the aspects mentioned are calculated in Standard Pacific Time, for greater accuracy please adjust to your own location.
