September 18: An Urge to Socialize

September 18: An Urge to Socialize

The moon is opposite Chiron Rx at 12:05 a.m.

The moon is sextile Venus at 9:41 a.m.

Friday opens with a moon/Chiron opposition just after midnight, bringing our wounds into our emotional awareness. This aspect occurs while many of us are sleeping, so it may play out on our dreamscape as an old memory or an important symbol of soul healing. We may wake up with new awareness on how to strike a balance between our deep, ongoing needs and the day-to-day need for connection that the Libra moon illuminates now.

The day then begins with a supportive sextile between the moon in Venus-ruled Libra and Venus herself in courageous Leo. This aspect is a powerful, positive connection that encourages loving expressions, creativity, and an urge to socialize. The only drawback is that it is such a short passage, yet a little goes a long way with this enlivening and encouraging aspect.

The moon is square Jupiter at 3:36 p.m.

The moon is conjunct Mercury at 7:08 p.m.

The morning and early afternoon coasts on the sweet buzz created by the moon/Venus sextile, until the moon shifts into an insistent square aspect with Jupiter in realistic Capricorn. Though the square aspect can feel edgy, and cause some friction, it’s not as tough between the moon and Jupiter, two planets that help us meet our needs. If anything, we may experience this passage as emotional expansion and exaggeration, which may cause us to feel more indulgent than usual. Personal topics may come up to the surface that need some tending, and the moon in balance-loving Libra may indicate these topics need to be worked out in our social and romantic relationships. We may also have to keep an eye on our financial boundaries now, as Jupiter may give us a false sense of confidence in this area.

By the early evening, the Libra moon forms a conjunction with Mercury, the messenger, opening up important talks that were perhaps set in motion by today’s romantic and indulgent mood. The words to express our feelings may come to mind quickly, and since Libra is an intellectual air sign, new ideas may flow smoothly.

The moon is square Pluto Rx at 11:39 p.m.

Before midnight, the waxing moon in peaceable Libra forms an edgy square with Pluto in earthy Capricorn. There may be a brief passage of emotional unrest for some of us overnight while this square is active. The moon square Pluto may stir up hidden feelings from our shadow and prompt us to reflect on deep, psychological themes.
