Amanda Owen's study of astrology began in 1974, and she has maintained a private practice since 1985. She is the author of Lucky Stars (Random House, 2001), an astrology book for teenagers and young adults that has received excellent reviews from both astrologers and non-astrologers.

Amanda's podcast, The Girlfriends Guide to Astrology, can be accessed on iTunes or at her website. Published twice a month, it features discussion of current transits, chart discussions, and interviews with professional astrologers.

Lecturing frequently throughout the United States, Amanda maintains a busy teaching schedule. She has been profiled on television and radio and has written a variety of articles for astrological publications including Horoscope Guide, American Astrology and Mountain Astrologer. She has also written articles and website content for CosmoGIRL.

She recently completed her second book, When You Stop Chasing Your Dreams They'll Start Chasing You. Amanda conducts tele-courses, lectures and workshops around the country on the book's material. These workshops, titled From Awareness to Manifestation, are helping people manifest their dreams and goals by developing and strengthening their capacity to receive them.
