How Do We Manifest With the Moon?

No matter your spiritual background, we are each gifted with profound abilities to tap into the natural cycles of the universe. Just as the Moon affects the tides, animals, and many natural phenomena on Earth, we also change over the lunar cycle. Even if you do not plan to directly tap into the cosmic forces through ritual or meditation, you can still time important actions to Moon cycles, which may allow you to build your life in practical ways. Let’s take a look at how you can use each potent Moon period.

First off, the lunar cycle begins with a New Moon. This is when the Moon has disappeared in the night’s sky and is completely dark. New Moons—and the weeks after them—are excellent for new beginnings and starting a new chapter. This is an ideal time to start new initiatives, ask for favors, and lay seeds that you’d like to build toward over the coming six months or a year. In some traditions, people say that what you build at the New Moon will culminate at a Full Moon two weeks later, but this isn’t exactly how the universe works. For instance, this can amount to wishful thinking and not giving your life and actions even time, perseverance, and attention to grow. This is why a New Moon is more specifically connected to a Full Moon in the same zodiac sign six months later.

Next, Full Moons are potent times in the lunar cycle because they represent culminations, endings, revelations ,and turning points. They often make us more emotional, reactive, and intense, as the Moon is at her greatest light and power in the heavens above. We can feel a Full Moon for the entire week that surrounds it. These are times when we have more of an ability to reap what we’ve sown, harvest the fruits of our labor, and make a larger impact. Anything that we want more attention upon—whether it’s ourselves, a relationship, or a project—that launches on or near a Full Moon will have more emphasis. However, if we are not receiving what we’ve hoped for from our direct actions and the universe on a Full Moon, it means it’s time to pivot and change directions to find a better path toward our goals and desires.

Supermoons have become especially popular in recent years, as people have become once again fascinated with astronomy and astrology. While they may appear larger in the sky—or by extension, smaller, if they’re a Micromoon—we do not necessarily “feel” any differently than if it were a normal New Moon or Full Moon. However, they are still a fascinating phenomenon, and they occur because the Moon is slightly closer or further away at any given time.

Last to note are eclipses. Eclipses are the most powerful tool the universe has to create change in our lives. Often we receive profound, destined news that changes our lives on or near an eclipse—but the shifts that occur tend to echo out over six months to a year that follows. We tend to experience eclipses in a pair of zodiac signs—on a polarity—over the course of a year and a half to two years. Eclipses also repeat on the same degrees in a nineteen-year pattern—so if you are experiencing an eclipse, you can look back nineteen years to see similar themes that may emerge now! Solar Eclipses bring destined new beginnings and are three times more powerful than a New Moon, while Lunar Eclipses bring fated endings, breakthroughs, and breakdowns and are three times more powerful than a Full Moon. Because eclipse energy is so chaotic and hard to control, it is often advised not to “manifest” on or near an eclipse, but instead to see what the universe brings to you and pay attention to synchronicities.

One final message we will share is that, depending on where each important lunation falls in your natal chart, this can carry the themes that will be drawing your attention. You can also view which zodiac sign each lunation resonates within, too, to tap into the themes, energies, and correspondences of that archetype as well. This zodiac sign’s frequency will echo throughout the entire human collective during that period in time.

2026 looks to be a big year! May it be filled with many happy, blessed, and vibrant Moon cycles for you.
