February 8: New Insights

January 29, 2021

The moon is trine Uranus at 1:00 a.m.
After midnight, the Capricorn moon forms a trine to Uranus in Taurus, suggesting that an infusion of uncertainty may actually serve to mature our habits and behaviors and make us more emotionally prepared to handle business. This period can bring about change that feels empowering rather than upsetting, informing how we might better use our resources to manage our circumstances. A family announcement or surprise news trickling in from a distance could be involved. If a sudden opportunity arises, you may have only a short window to accept or decline. Would you be willing to take a risk if it meant leveling-up your life?

The sun is conjunct Mercury retrograde at 5:48 a.m.
In the early morning hours, the sun and Mercury form an inferior conjunction in Aquarius (which means that Mercury sits between the earth and the sun in alignment). In retrograde motion, Mercury helps us to unearth material trapped in the subconscious mind. Its conjunction with the sun may provide insight regarding how you relate to others, or it could signal the delivery of specific message intended to guide your ultimate evolution.
Most of all, this transit allows us to quickly adapt our style of thinking to take in new information relatively quickly. However, avoid signing contracts or making agreements just because some piece of the puzzle has fallen into place. Speedy Mercury illuminated by the sun’s rays can have us feeling excited and over-stimulated, but it is preferable to delay important decisions until after Mercury is direct, as conditions are changeable and deals made now are potentially unreliable.

Ceres is sextile Pluto at 6:14 p.m.
The moon is trine Mars at 6:21 p.m.
Around dusk, the asteroid Ceres in Pisces forms a sextile with Pluto in Capricorn, and we may have arrived at this moment nursing some sort of fear or apprehension. Some fears are liable to remain safety unchallenged in the unconscious mind, in our psychological underworld. Yet, if we cultivate these growths, if we feed them the nutrients they require to thrive, our anxieties will eventually bloom into our conscious awareness, often in problematic ways.
Perhaps we have been vaguely aware of such an issue, yet it has not seemed to pose enough of a problem for us to be proactive in facing it. Ceres sextile Pluto suggests you are capable of puling your toxic fears up by the roots. Better to confront them now, when there is less cosmic friction, then to wait for a less favorable aspect to take a stand.
Shortly thereafter, the moon trines Mars in Taurus, offering courage and emotional fortitude. We can fully commit our attention to tasks that are important to us—just be sure that you are not doing things the hard way, the difficult way, to prove you can. Yes, you may have time and energy to spare at this point, but some of that stamina can be wasted in the process of over-stylizing a presentation or competing (against no one) in the endurance Olympics.

The moon is sextile Neptune at 10:55 p.m.
Late in the evening, the moon sextiles Neptune in Pisces, activating fantasy projections. Since many of us will be headed to sleep, our dreams may be especially vivid and inspiring, conjuring up visualizations of success and accomplishment. The Capricorn moon has great intuitive capacity, but under its influence, we typically shun fantasy for more pragmatic concerns, and so this connection allows us to see that fact and fiction don’t necessarily exist far from each other on the spectrum of possibility; they both simply have different definitions of what it means to be aspirational.
