January 5: Increased Sensitivity

December 28, 2020

The moon is trine Saturn at 1:22 a.m.

The moon is trine Jupiter at 4:17 a.m.

In the early morning hours, the moon forms a pleasing trine to Saturn in Aquarius, offering emotional resiliency and amplifying our interest in justice and right action. Saturn’s influence serves to stabilize the oft-indecisive Libra moon, making it easier to make concrete decisions or focus on tackling a project. Because this transit is occurring when many of us will be asleep, our dreams may be those of obligation to family and community, where we strengthen our relationships by blending traditional values with progressive ethos. This is a good time for looking at our past to inform our future.

Later on, the moon trines Jupiter in Aquarius, favoring socializing with loved ones. We are idealistic about our relationships and in a giving mood, but should be aware not to take others’ generosity for granted. We may believe others have a surplus to spare, when they are really stretching themselves to be altruistic. Take a cue from this playbook and give back if you can. This is a great influence for making a charitable donation or contributing to those in need. What we give away now is likely to come back to us in a positive fashion, because when we are generous with our time, energy, and wealth, luck and good fortune have a way of finding us.

The moon is opposite Chiron at 6:33 a.m.

At dawn, the moon opposes Chiron in Aries, causing us to believe that we can’t quite do anything right. This is mostly a projection, a desire to protect ourselves from the possibility of disappointment, but if we hide away due to vulnerability or feelings of inadequacy, we could end up isolated by our own hand.

The other way this influence might manifest is in the presumption that people are criticizing our objectives or goals, so we will try to “get ahead” of their derision by biting back pre-emptively, which only serves to inspire further insecurity and irritability. This sensitive alignment is the dominant aspect for much of the day. Aim to hold space for your tender side and make space to express your feelings through creative or physical activity.
