Mercury Retrograde Starts June 29 — Here’s the Lucky Silver Lining for Each Sign

It’s that time of year again—Mercury retrograde strikes again!

Each year, our cosmic messenger planet, Mercury, enters into a retrograde phase three to four times. Often, Mercury retrograde phases repeat in similar elements throughout a year. This is because our cosmic messenger echoes patterns, teaching the human collective to focus on specific energies in our lives and in the greater world around us. For instance, when Mercury swirls out of orbit in Water signs—like we predominantly have in 2026—we find that our emotions and relationships become confusing and need to be reviewed and recalibrated. Also, the zodiac sign in which our cosmic messenger is swimming backward within draws emphasis to the specific themes we will be reviewing.
