New Moon in Aquarius: Invisible Power

February 15, 2018

20 Feet from Stardom (2013)

Today’s new moon partial solar eclipse in Aquarius may not be visible for most of us, but that won’t stop it from taking center stage.

Like the rock-and-roll backup singers featured in this Academy Award-winning documentary, its electrifying effects will be felt whether we notice them or not.

This new moon’s conjunction with Mercury amplifies our inner voice, and if we’ve been silent too long, a sextile to Uranus in Aries dares us to let that voice ring out over the noise of the crowd. Aquarius is all about expressing your individuality, not from a place of ego, but by honoring the unique contribution only you can make to the greater whole.

Today’s other major aspect, a sextile between Venus in Pisces and Saturn in Capricorn, can help us manifest our dreams if we’re willing to make the necessary sacrifices. Success may not come according to our timetable or in quite the way we envisioned, but if we keep doing our thing and trust in the flow of life, one day we’ll be able to look back with gratitude and pride on all that we’ve accomplished.
See the wisest next steps you should take on your career path…

The stories of Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, and other legendary backup vocalists demonstrate how sublime it is to harmonize with others, but also how frustrating it can be when you never get the chance to unleash your full power. On Saturday, when Mars in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces, we may feel some of this tension ourselves.

Fortunately, with a sun-Mercury conjunction in the last degrees of Aquarius on the same day, we can keep our eye on the bigger picture and appreciate our own unique place within it. Mercury enters Pisces on Saturday night, and the sun follows the next morning, encouraging us to keep following the dreams that make our hearts sing.
