Unlock Your Cosmic Power: How to Manifest with Astrology
Chances are you’re familiar with manifesting and the Law of Attraction, but did you know you can use your astrology chart to help you manifest pretty much anything in your life? We explored manifesting with the moon in this article last month and I spoke to Astrologer, Herbalist and Health Consultant Cameron Allen about manifesting with astrology:
Allen said, “ I emphasize paying attention to if the Moon is waxing or waning, what is the next aspect the Moon is making, and making sure that the next planet the Moon is connecting with matches the aims of what one desires to manifest. I also invite people into building a relationship with the planets that is intimate. Through relationship building, we can better understand when and how to engage with manifestation using astrology more intuitively.
Adding your natal chart in the mix can help you take your manifesting up a notch. Your astrological natal chart or birth chart is a two dimensional representation of the positions of the planets, points and asteroids at the moment of your birth, that can give you insight into your personality traits, family lineage, career, earning potential, relationships, health and more. Studying your natal chart and/or having a reading with a professional astrologer can provide useful insight into your life path and purpose. But let’s explore how you can take it one step further and use your natal chart to not only fulfill your natal promise, but also call in more of the things you want in life.
Natal Chart Basics
The foundation of an astrological natal chart are planets, signs and houses. The twelve western zodiac signs and constellations are archetypes rooted in mythology, and are associated with certain themes and behaviors. In astrology, the planets in our solar system represent an expression of energy that can be felt here on earth. In your natal chart, each planet was sitting in a particular zodiac sign and that sign is indicative of how that planet’s energy will be expressed throughout your life. There are 7 visible planets from earth (The sun, moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) which were used for astrological interpretations in traditional astrology. The sun and moon are referred to as “planets” in astrology, even though they are not actually planets. After the discovery of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, many modern astrologers started to use these outer planets in natal chart readings, and they were assigned as new “modern” rulers for three zodiac signs. Uranus was assigned as the ruler for Aquarius (Saturn is the traditional ruler), Neptune for Pisces (Jupiter is the traditional ruler), and Pluto for Scorpio. (Mars is the traditional ruler).
The houses in a natal chart are connected to different areas of our lives. For example, the first house represents everything that has to do with you – your personality, physical body, how you express yourself outwardly, and is associated with the zodiac sign that was ascending in the cosmos at the time of your birth. Your ascendant/rising sign is a very important part of your natal chart, especially when it comes to manifesting, because it indicates how you move through the world. You need your exact birth time to get your natal chart and ascendant/rising sign, but if you don’t have this information, you can use your sun sign as a reference for this section.
Rising / Ascendant Sign: Make Your Own Luck
Astrology is a complex subject, with many different schools of thought and techniques, so for the sake of simplicity, we will focus on using the rising sign and its ruler for manifesting. Because the rising sign is the beginning of the chart and connected to when you took your first breath, it plays a major role in forging your own path and bringing things to fruition. The planetary ruler of your rising sign is the ruler of your chart, meaning it is in the driver’s seat if you look at your life as a journey. We will look at your rising sign and how you can connect with the energy of the planet that rules it to manifest things into your life. If you don’t know your rising sign, you can run a free birth chart here and reference the personality section of the report. If you don’t know your birth time, again, use your sun sign.
Each zodiac sign has a traditional planetary ruler, and Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces have modern rulers. We will focus on the traditional rulers for the sake of this exercise. Identify your rising sign below and its ruler (or your sun sign and its ruler), and read about how the ruler of the sign will generally help you with getting the things you want.
- Aries, ruled by Mars
- Taurus, ruled by Venus
- Gemini, ruled by Mercury
- Cancer, ruled by the moon
- Leo, ruled by the sun
- Virgo, ruled by Mercury
- Libra, ruled by Venus
- Scorpio, ruled by Mars & Pluto
- Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter
- Capricorn, ruled by Saturn
- Aquarius, ruled by Saturn & Uranus
- Pisces, ruled by Jupiter & Neptune
Mars: If Mars rules your chart, you will need to be assertive in getting the things you want. You are brave and strategic, but at times you can be too impulsive and combative. In order to manifest things in your life, you should focus on consistent effort towards your goals. Your personal motto should be “Never give up.”
Venus: If Venus rules your chart, people and relationships are key to your success. Your natural charm and grace can bring you the things you want, but at times you may rest on your laurels. In order to manifest things in your life, you should avoid people and situations that disrupt your harmony. Your personal motto should be “I can go further together than alone.”
Mercury: If Mercury rules your chart, your mindset and communication skills highly influence your success. You are a thinker and may have a tendency to fall into analysis paralysis. In order to manifest things into your life, you need to keep your thoughts positive and aligned with what you want. Your personal motto should be “If I can believe it, I can achieve it.”
The Moon: If the moon rules your chart, your intuition and emotional well-being will influence your ability to manifest. You are perceptive and empathic. At times you are overly emotional and wavering with how you feel. In order to manifest things in your life, you need to follow your gut and disassociate from things that suck your energy. Your personal motto should be “I can trust myself and my intuition.”
The Sun: If the sun rules your chart, confidence and self expression are the keys to your success. You should be bold and lean into your natural talents and abilities. At times you may be too self-serving and egocentric. In order for you to manifest things in your life, you need to have 100% belief in yourself. Your personal motto should be “I am not afraid to shine.”
Jupiter: If Jupiter rules your chart, faith and optimism will take you the furthest. You should always stay hopeful and committed to personal growth and expansion. At times you may be overly optimistic and jump before you are ready. In order for you to manifest things in your life, you should align preparation with your natural luck. Your personal motto should be “I can trust the path I’m on.”
Saturn: If Saturn rules your chart, hard work and sacrifice will take you where you want to go. You should always act with integrity and put your all into everything you do. At times you may be pessimistic and judgemental. In order for you to manifest things in your life, you should make a plan, take your time, and be consistent. Your personal motto should be “Consistent effort takes me where I want to go.”
And if you want to kick your manifesting up another notch, you can incorporate working with the moon as aforementioned, and your planetary ruler with the use of herbs, one of Allen’s specialties. Here’s what he recommends: “The herbs I tend to start people off with are usually cooking herbs like Basil, Rosemary, Peppermint, Ginger. These herbs have been utilized in many different traditions, have a variety of uses, and people already are usually familiar with them, and they are accessible. The power is in simplicity for me when first working with herbs and manifestation.

Happy manifesting to you!
