How to Channel July 3’s Disruptive Energy Into Something That Moves You Forward
The cosmos above teaches us a great deal not only about what is going on in our lives, but on the world’s stage. Each day when I am charting out the movements of our luminaries—the sun and the moon—as well as our planets, I can use my expertise to understand what is likely to take place.
As we turn into July, we are experiencing many powerful energies—and yes, many of them may be a bit disruptive. First to note is the most obvious one: Mercury retrograde in Cancer. This cycle began to be felt as early as June 12 but officially began on June 29 (at 26 degrees Cancer). Obviously, as we enter July, we’re just at the very beginning of this cycle. It will last until July 23 officially (ending at 16 degrees Cancer), but we’ll still be in the fog of it until August 6. All Mercury retrograde cycles can bring confusion, miscommunication, and delays—as well as cause us to need to rehash, revise, and readjust. Ultimately, though, I believe that the universe is never trying to punish us, and as much as Mercury retrograde cycles get a bad reputation, they’re a blessing in disguise because people can use all energies to improve their paths by moving congruently with them. For instance: retrogrades tend to bring back situations, relationships, and discussions from the past not to haunt us, but to give us a chance to tinker with them, find a better solution, and then proceed.
But that’s not all: on July 3, we have some explosive and potentially volatile energy in the heavens above! This is because Mars, the planet of passion, drive, anger, and war, will race forth and collide in conjunction with Uranus, the planet of the unexpected, chaos, and explosions. More often than not, this foretells bad news: accidents, impulsivity, eruptions, challenges, hostility, and volatility. We—or others—may feel provoked and hostile, as well as be more prone to risky, violent, and out of character behavior. They are meeting in the skies of Gemini, which rules technology, social media, communications, travel, and our close personal networks—which aligns with friends, neighbors, and siblings—so on a collective scale, this is also where we may see an “eruption” in people’s lives or our own.
Yet, this high-powered energy can also be used for good, especially if we are channeling the frequencies in a more positive and healthy direction. For instance, even though Mars rules war, it can empower us to passionately focus, too. Uranus, while also aligning with chaos and disruption, can push us to think outside of the box and step into genius or outside of our comfort zones. If we are able to think of these energies in this particular way, you can very likely harness the vibrations toward your goals—personally or professionally in a much better way. The Gemini energy could be great for learning, speaking, connecting, or meeting new people in different ways than you’re accustomed to. You could travel to a location nearby that is not a part of your usual routine and you may find yourself surprised by the experience.
Also, I do want to make a last statement about this particular period. Mars is like a firework in the skies—and all aspects that it makes (especially with an outer planet)—can be felt for many days before and after. This means we’ll likely feel it building until it bursts on July 3 and then it will continue to fizzle and linger on throughout the weekend. So even if you’re able to make it through July 3 unscathed, you may want to still tiptoe forward until you reach the following week.
Here’s a mini guide on where you may notice a great surge of energy!
