Weekly Horoscope: December 29, 2025 to January 4, 2026—Welcome to a New Year

As we approach the final days of 2025, we will find ourselves reflecting on where we’ve been, where we are, and where we wish to go. Each year, as we cross the threshold into the “new year,” we find ourselves wondering what lies ahead: will it be a good year or a challenging one? Will I be happy, safe, or prosperous? How will the world grow? What lies ahead? The Energy Profile of This Week

First and foremost, as you may soon read in your monthly overview that I wrote for Astrology.com for January, we can see that far and wide, this looks to be a rather spectacular month. In years past, we’ve had them start out riddled with celestial storms or retrogrades. This year though, January looks so golden—and if you plan your actions according to the stars, you are more likely to get better results.

While December 29 could be a bit rocky, especially around somber moods or challenges around ideas, and January 1 may certainly bring some illusions or delusions, the best thing to do is to be careful with how you communicate. Listen first to what others have to say, and know that you can find a middle ground.

Mental Mercury begins to climb the mountaintops of Capricorn beginning on January 1 until January 20. This transit helps us to be more practical, grounded, and calculating in our communications, planning, and connections. Professional matters and discussions about the long-term could also go quite well. However, it’s best not to be too rigid and try to balance our minds with our hearts.

Yet, as we near the end of the week, a mighty full moon in Cancer arrives on January 3. All full moons can be felt for days before and after and can bring turning points, sudden news, endings, breakthroughs, or breakdowns—but I’m extremely happy to announce that most of the planets will be in joyous agreement with this full moon. On a collective level, full moons in Cancer bring a focus to our roots, traditions, homes, families, and living situations—so you may find some sort of change there.

ARIES (MARCH 21 – APRIL 19)

You often feel the fire of passion running through your heart and soul, Aries, but this week you may be a bit more sentimental and nostalgic. The full moon is going to add extra emphasis around family or domestic situations, like the sudden need to move or acquire a dazzling new piece of furniture. Instead, you may host or attend an event with family,or need to step in to help one of your kindred.

TAURUS (APRIL 20 – MAY 20)

Step up to the microphone and open your mind now, Taurus. This week’s full moon is bringing more of a focus to your ideas and how you communicate with the world. On one hand, you may find that you’re a tad bit more social or engaging with others—such as close friends, neighbors, or siblings. On the other, you could be involved with a contract or be debuting an important communications-related endeavor. Last, travel may instead be on the top of your list.

GEMINI (MAY 21 – JUNE 20)

Prosperity will be a big theme for you this week, Gemini, and while you are likely to see money coming in and out—perhaps even two streams that are changing—it does appear that there should be happy news around finances or the acquisition of a new possession. For instance, the full moon could bring a change, ending, or addition to your nest egg, especially like a new client, a raise, or a new job offer.

CANCER (JUNE 21 – JULY 22)

As you enter 2026, all eyes are on you, Cancer—and this energy is going to be especially potent for you until July! You have so much cosmic potential on your side, so it’s your moment. With the full moon shining in your zodiac sign, you may find that you, a relationship, or a goal is in the spotlight, and you can reach to the stars. Even if something ends near this time, it’s like you’re shedding a chrysalis to become a beautiful butterfly.

LEO (JULY 23 – AUGUST 22)

This week may have you feeling a bit burnt out from the holidays and being out and about so much in recent days, Leo. In fact, the full moon is encouraging you to practice stillness and mindfulness, and to lie low. This can be a time of tranquility where you lie back, rest, and recharge. If you do so, you may find that your intuitive or creative powers awaken to even greater levels. If for some reason, something behind the scenes pops up that rattles you a bit, trust that the universe is trying to ultimately help you.

VIRGO (AUGUST 23 – SEPTEMBER 22)

As you soar right into the new year, you’re still in “party mode,” Virgo—and you just can’t stop dancing to the beat! It appears that there is a great deal of focus on your community and network at this time and you may even attend a dazzling event and find applause, or see that you’re surrounded by people who love and support you. If for some reason a specific friend needs help, this is a time to step in. Last, a heartfelt aspiration could soon be within reach—but you may need to ask for a favor to get it.

LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 – OCTOBER 22)

Light up the world like fireworks, Libra! The upcoming full moon is bringing big news around professional matters, a career change, or your public standing. The good news is that it’s likely to be quite positive, even if it’s simply a favorable review—but it could be as big as a promotion, a big spotlight, or a mighty job offer.

SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 21)

While you may not always be one of the most adventurous zodiac signs in the world, you will certainly feel the itch to step outside of your comfort zone due to this week’s full moon, Scorpio. When you set your mind on pursuing growth—intellectually, spiritually, or beyond—you know nothing can stop you. This is a time to think outside of the box and soar—and some of you may literally be travelling around this time.

SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 – DECEMBER 21)

As the new year summons you forth, you may end up realizing you’re focusing a bit more on large financial matters, Sagittarius. For instance, there could be a big bump coming in—like a bonus, a settlement, an inheritance, a royalty check, or even a re-negotiation on your job benefits—but it may also have to do with something you’re taking on or paying off, like a debt. Use the full moon’s power in your favor.

CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 – JANUARY 19)

One of the most pivotal periods for relationships in 2026 is already here for you, Capricorn. This week’s full moon will turn a major focus to one significant partnership,  personally or professionally. While it is more likely than not you will see this be a time of union—like signing contracts, making long-term promises, moving in, or getting wed—it could also be a time when you face the fact that it’s time to find someone else who mirrors you better.

AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18)

You’re in the fast lane as you groove right along into the new year, Aquarius! Get ready to be juggling a million irons in the fire: routines, responsibilities, employment projects, health matters, and your overall work and life balance. This is an excellent time to find a new job or pick up a new health habit, too, all inspired by the full moon.

PISCES (FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20)

There is a dazzling fire igniting in your heart as you venture into the new year, Pisces. The upcoming full moon puts a spotlight on the love that you give and your sense of desire and passion. This could be like finding a soulmate if single, or falling more deeply in love. Or instead, giving “birth” to something like art or a child. No matter what, let your spirit and sense of euphoria radiate like the sun.
