Intense Relationship Dynamics Take Place Under the Libra Full Moon

March 24, 2021

On March 28, 2021 (11:48 AM Pacific Daylight Time), there will be a full moon at 8°18’ of Libra.

Full moons have a way of revealing what’s out of balance in our lives. But this is especially true when the lunation is in Libra, aka the sign of the Scales. This full moon sheds light on situations that feel unfair, unjust, or inequitable to us—and more importantly, shows us what we can do to set the balance right.

Ruled by love-goddess Venus, Libra’s primary concern is relationships. And at this full moon, that’s where our focus is likely to be as well. Whether these connections are romantic, platonic, or professional, our heart’s desire is that they be as harmonious and mutually pleasing as possible. We’re looking for ways to ease tensions, resolve conflicts, and restore reciprocity—even if that means putting other people’s feelings and preferences ahead of our own.

What Does the March Full Moon Mean?

Still, there are times when it’s appropriate to put yourself first. And with Venus conjunct the sun and Chiron in Libra’s opposite sign of Aries, this full moon just might be one of those times. After all, our primary relationship in life—which sets the tone for all of our other relationships—is the one we have with ourselves. So if there are any aspects of this relationship that need to be healed, this might be a time for you to focus on self-love.

Building self-respect is equally important. Fortunately, as Venus and the sun sextile Saturn in Aquarius (March 30 and 31), we’ll have ample opportunities to do just that. Harness this aspect’s energy to step up your personal responsibility, and get some serious “adulting” done.

The Libra full moon also harmonizes with Saturn, as part of a Grand Trine in air signs. This formation, which also includes Mars in Gemini, supports us in staying calm, cool, and collected—even in the face of some fiery emotions. We’re able to compartmentalize our feelings when necessary, and refrain from taking things personally that aren’t really about us. We’re also quicker to realize when we don’t have all the facts, and seek out the knowledge we need to make informed decisions.

What we’ll want to watch out for, though, is a tendency to skim the surface—to detach emotionally, or disengage from potentially constructive conflicts. While we often try to avoid confrontation under the Libra moon, this isn’t always the best thing for us… or for our relationships.

After all, as the moon quincunxes Uranus in Taurus, there are some things we simply cannot compromise. As uncomfortable as it might be to stand our ground and risk losing others’ approval, this may be what we have to do to feel at peace within ourselves.

Fortunately, a Mercury/Neptune conjunction in Pisces (exact March 29) helps us to communicate with kindness. Just make sure you’re really speaking your truth, not saying things just to be nice. The Libra moon may be charming and gracious, but it’s important to balance style with substance.

Horoscope for the Full Moon in Libra

Libra

All is fair in love, Libra. But at this full moon, it’s more about what is fair to you. You may be noticing a double standard in relationships, where others are comfortable asserting themselves and expressing their preferences in ways you feel you can’t. If so, give yourself permission to be a little more “selfish.”

Scorpio

The spiritual life is a delicate balance, Scorpio. On the one hand, it’s about knowing yourself—which takes a fair amount of solitude. But at the same time, it’s also about transcending yourself. And this makes reaching out to others equally important. This full moon reveals what’s needed to restore your inner equilibrium.

Sagittarius

You can go your own way, Sag—or you can go along to get along. On the surface, these might appear to be your only available options. But chances are, at this full moon, there’s a third path you can take. The happy medium is seeking acceptance and approval without sacrificing independence and authenticity.

Capricorn

Work-life balance is not a static thing, Capricorn. It’s a dynamic process that you’re constantly engaged in—and hopefully, evolving through. So if something’s throwing off your equilibrium at this full moon, it’s probably a sign that adjustments are needed. If you’ve been prioritizing one area over the other, try shifting your focus for now.

Aquarius

From “either/or” to “both/and”: Aquarius, that’s the perspective shift this full moon asks you to make. Perhaps more than usual, you’re willing to consider that more than one thing can be true at a time—and that other people’s opinions are equally valuable to yours. Embrace the paradox, and lean in to the uncertainty.

Pisces

You get what you give, Pisces—at least, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Right now, though, there seems to be a discrepancy between what you’re giving in certain relationships, and what you’re getting out of them. At this full moon, don’t sell yourself short. Make sure others are as invested as you are.

Aries

Relationships are mirrors, Aries—especially at this full moon. The people in your life and your interactions with them are revealing important insights about who you are… and how you see yourself. So the question is, do you like what you see? If not, reflect on what you can do to bolster your self-love and respect.

Taurus

Cooperation, collaboration, and compromise: At this full moon, Taurus, these “three C’s” are your secrets to success. True, you can accomplish a fair amount on your own. But to really get the job done, try sharing the workload with someone whose skillset complements yours. Just remember, you’ll have to share the credit as well.

Gemini

Easy does it, Gemini! As spring fever kicks in, you’re understandably eager to get out there and have some fun with friends. But at this full moon, life’s pleasures are best enjoyed in moderation. Be careful not to burn your candle at both ends. Instead, strike a balance between social life and self-care.

Cancer

We all have our ups and downs, Cancer. So it doesn’t always seem fair to burden other people with what you’re going through. But putting on a brave face for their benefit isn’t exactly fair to you. At this full moon, your feelings are equally important—no matter how complicated or contradictory they are.

Leo

You catch more flies with honey, Leo. So if you’re trying to win someone over to your worldview at this full moon, pretty persuasion will work better than brute force. Perhaps, though, you might want to focus less on convincing others, and more on understanding them. Make sure you’re giving their perspectives equal consideration.

Virgo

Making a life, while making a living: It’s a balancing act, Virgo, but you do your best to make it work. And at this full moon, the universe seems equally invested in your success. Money, time, and other resources are easier to come by. But consider all your options before making any major moves.
