Weekly Horoscope: October 12, 2026 to October 18, 2026—New Moon, New Partnership

The sun and moon meet once every lunar cycle, and they do so to usher forth a fresh chapter for the weeks and months ahead. New moons are always important to watch—and we can harness them for our advantage.

The Energy Profile Of This Week

In last week’s horoscope, I mentioned we had a new moon in Libra arrive on October 10. I wanted to give more attention to that now because it arrived toward the end of the week and its energy will still be especially potent now. If you have read any of my other work—or have done a personal reading with me—I often mention that a new moon is most potent in the week to ten days after it arrives. The actions that we take in that period often echo out for the coming six months, depending on which zodiac sign it falls within and in which house it arrives in our natal charts. However, it’s also important to pay attention to the aspects each lunation makes, as we can better foresee how the energy is likely to play out over those six months as we race to the corresponding full moon in the same zodiac sign. For instance, our recent new moon made a dazzling aspect with Jupiter, offering us good luck, happy news, and joy. However, the other planets were clashing, and Venus, the planetary ruler of the lunation, was under siege, too. This means that even though Libra often brings a focus to relationships, those that are woven now—especially due to Venus retrograde—could have a fatal flaw within them. Whether it be that the two parties are not on the same page or that there is inevitable jealousy, manipulation, or power struggles lurking beneath the radar, it would be wise to keep your antennae up now and wait to make any big decisions around union until the end of November at the earliest.

Another cosmic turning point arrives on October 15, as Pluto, our planet of the underworld, awakens from his slumber. He has been asleep since May 6, so situations that have been on hold since that time may reignite and get back on track. Any time a planet changes direction, its energy is especially noticeable and potent in our lives. Pay attention to everything now.

As for cosmic weather in the week ahead, the sun will sextile Jupiter on October 15, which is one of the most spectacular alignments. It brings joy, social connections, rewards, and can make dreams come true. Mars will trine Saturn on October 16—and this can be felt for days before and after. On a positive note, you could see an influx, but you may also have to balance some newfound expenses at this time. If money feels a bit tight, you may even need to apply for a new credit line or loan.
