At night, the Aries solar eclipse catalyzes individual and collective evolution! Eclipses are agents of change which disrupt how we experience reality. They foreshadow wholesale shifts to our goals and recontextualize how we view our purpose. This is the first in a new series of eclipses on the Aries-Libra axis, posing questions about how we negotiate personal and relational priorities. Although this occasion signals a new beginning, it also heralds a culmination, as evidenced by the sun and moon’s alignment on Aries’ final, or anaretic degree. Today’s events may be quite chaotic, as we are undergoing an initiation. Crises invite us to gaze into the mirror and be real about who we see looking back. The eclipse aligns with Jupiter, suggesting a spiritual wake-up call. The moon is also forming an out-of-sign square to Pluto in Aquarius, which can cause situations to seem direr than they really are. As with all eclipses, we should avoid intention setting at this time. Evolution is inevitable, and we cannot yet comprehend what the future has in store. Our homework is to release assumptions of what it means to be a success. The moon enters a short void following this aspect’s perfection. As if the cosmic weather weren’t turbulent enough, this is a sure sign to take no action!
At 9:30 p.m.: The moon enters Taurus, and the moon void of course ends
A short seventeen minutes later, the moon enters Taurus, ending its void of course. We are still deep in eclipse energies. The moon is approaching the Taurus lunar north node, a reminder that we are navigating uncharted territory. Here, we begin to recognize that the truer to ourselves we are, the better life will get. Life does not have to be a struggle to be meaningful. We are deserving of ease! We do not need to prove we are worthy of luxury, rest, and peace. The next two days invite us to deepen our awareness of what we have, as well as to acknowledge what we still need in order to step free of survival mode.
