Just after midnight, the Cancer moon squares off with Ceres in Libra, stimulating relational confusion. At this time, there is a disconnect between how we seek to nurture others, and how we desire to be nurtured. On the one hand, we aim to promote balance and harmony, to keep the peace. On the other hand, we wonder why we’re doing so much for the well-being of another, yet no one seems to care about our needs. We don’t want to make a big deal out of this, yet we cannot pour from an empty cup! As the moon and Ceres clash, we may become petty and withhold affection, then immediately feel guilty about our behavior. Remember: our loved ones cannot magically intuit what we need from them! We must be willing to ask. If you believe that asking for what you need will disturb the peace, consider why that might be so.
After sun-up, the moon sextiles Jupiter in Taurus, lightening the mood. We are a bit more emotionally at ease now, in part because we’ve identified some healthy coping mechanisms to tackle our moon-Ceres square problem. Perhaps nourishing food, or relaxation in a calm environment has soothed our spirits. This can be an indulgent time, but it is not indulgence for the sake of escapism. This is indulgence for getting in touch with our sense of inner peace and security. The calmer we are internally, the better it will reflect in our relationships. This is an ideal aspect for socializing and celebrations. We can demonstrate care for others without sacrificing our equilibrium in the process.
