A Day for Dreaming

May 6, 2022

At 12:03 a.m.: The moon is sextile the sun

Just after midnight, the Cancer moon sextiles the sun in Taurus, engendering harmony. Many of us will be asleep at this hour, missing its most auspicious effects. However, with the two luminaries connecting in signs that classically resonate with comfort and security, we are promised pleasant dreams and restful sleep uninterrupted by anxieties. Our dreaming mind can help us to reconcile unpleasant emotions in a terrain less fraught with by waking life distractions. If we are awake, is an excellent time to meditate or listen to music. Nostalgic feelings can be processed by embracing presence.

At 12:34 a.m.: The moon is trine Mars

Shortly following this, the moon trines Mars in Pisces, offering passion. Our dreams might become motivational, prompting us to be courageous and pursue our highest ambitions. We can dismiss barriers to our own progress, silencing the nagging voice in our heads that suggests we are not capable, original, or brave enough.  We can challenge the devil on our shoulder who intimates that we should surrender our creative and spiritual goals to facilitate others’ desires. At this time, we realize that our accomplishments are empty if we pursue them for the sake of optics and not our own happiness.
