May’s Dark Moon Phase Calls for Greater Presence and Embodiment

May 17, 2023

At 2:10 a.m.: The moon is square Mars, and the moon void of course begins

In the pre-dawn hours, the Aries moon squares off with Cancer Mars, provoking stress! Irritations and frustrations create emotional overwhelm. We resort to throwing tantrums if we don’t get our way! Although patience and a series of deep breaths are recommended to manage this moment, the moon and Mars are in mutual reception in these signs. This means that at the very least, we will have the self-awareness to know that pitching a fit probably won’t get us desired results.  The moon enters a void of course following this aspect’s perfection that will last until dawn. Instead of wasting our energy fighting for supremacy, know that the braver option is to work with what we have and know that better is coming!

At 5:28 a.m.: The moon enters Taurus, and the moon void of course ends

Around sun-up, the moon enters Taurus, ending its three-hour void of course. Over the next two days, we are in the dark moon in the run-up to May 19’s Taurus new moon. This is a time of release. What can be let go of so that you can tap into greater presence and embodiment? Taking care of our physical vessels is key now. Drink plenty of water and get lots of sleep. When possible, choose nourishing foods over filler snacks. Spend time in nature or with animals.
