In the early morning, Mercury in Virgo trines Jupiter in Taurus, the final of three aspects between these two planets during Mercury’s retrograde cycle. The first pass, which took place on August 9, encouraged us to balance the details and the big-picture implications of negotiations, studies, and spiritual endeavors. The second trine, on September 4, with Mercury retrograde, asked us to continue these campaigns and discussions, yet make revisions and adjustments to our overall plan. If our initial projections had not yet born fruit, there was no reason to stress. During today’s final pass, we see the necessity of these revisions and understand that we are now better situated for success. Idealism is required to kick off projects, but blind idealism can become an impediment if not checked by logic. Today, we see that course corrections are an important part of our process. In the afternoon, the moon squares off with Jupiter, creating difficulties in impulse control. This aspect will likely pass without major incident. We tend to be less emotionally volatile under the Aquarius moon. However, we can also adopt a rather cool and reserved attitude in moments that merit cause for concern. Therefore, we can now find ourselves “reading the room wrong.” Alternatively, we might let a social issue continue unchecked when we should speak up about it. If something doesn’t seem like “such a big deal” now, we can find ourselves in trouble down the line when the problem has metastasized!
