February Astrology Forecast: It’s All Systems Go!

January 30, 2023

Welcome to 2023! While the Gregorian calendar shifted on January 1, astrologically speaking, we began the year when the sun entered Aquarius on January 20 and the moon became new on January 21. Hopefully, you set some goals then—but don’t fret if you didn’t yet, February lends plenty of opportunities to get your 2023 groove on!

According to professional astrologer Catherine Urban, “February begins with a lightning boost! That’s right. All planets are moving direct. After a grinding Mars and Mercury retrograde which helped us cool off and re-strategize our directive, we are officially ready to fly forward with greater confidence on our path. February’s astrological weather offers ample opportunities for courageous connection with our dreams, authentic self-expression, and romance (sizzle sizzle!).”

Besides offering all planets in direct motion, the astrology of February brings two natal planets in strong positions in the sky: Venus in Pisces and Mercury in Aquarius. “If you’re someone who is energized by group collaboration, brainstorming with your besties and inventing plans for the launch of your next “big idea,” then Mercury’s transit through Aquarius is perfect for you! Be sure to plan your world takeover between February 11 and March 2,” she adds.

A Full Moon in Leo

We get the most intense astrology of February out of the way early with the arrival of this month’s full moon. Happening on February 5 at 10:29 a.m. Pacific Time, in the sign of Leo, it will form a stressful T-square with the Aquarius sun and Uranus in Taurus. The need to find a balance between “me” (Leo) and “us” (Aquarius) will be necessary, and a decision will need to be made! T-squares bring moments of crisis, so be prepared to receive sudden news due to wild child Uranus being involved.

What’s interesting about this full moon is that it activates the degree (15 degrees of Taurus) of the full moon lunar eclipse that occurred back on November 8. Remember, eclipses can have up to six months of reach, so watch for recruiting themes from last year. Find a solution by looking at the house in your chart that is at 15 degrees of Scorpio, which is the point of release.

Venus In Pisces

Venus in Pisces is, by far, the highlight of this month’s astrology! Venus entered Pisces on January 26 and will swim in the warm waters of the sign of the Fishes until February 19. During these three weeks, astro-magicians will be throwing spells and conjuring, as this is the strongest Venus ever gets in the entire year. Venus hasn’t been either comfortable or strong since December 9, when it left Sagittarius.

According to Catherine, the last days of this Venus-in-Pisces transit are sure to set some hot and steamy fireworks! “Many astrologers agree that Valentine’s Day should arrive during dreamy Pisces Season, but this year, we will bask in an enamoring Venus-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, exact on February 15, which is sure to set a romantic mood. Venus-Neptune conjunctions sweep us off our feet, inviting us to get lost in the moment. Tap into this aspect with your favorite playlist, your favorite people, and your favorite drink,” she adds.

On Valentine’s Day, the sun will also be activating the planet of time, Saturn, which could only mean this is the perfect occasion to say “yes!” if a special someone asks you to be their forever boo!

Pluto at the Anaretic Degree of Capricorn

But of course, it wouldn’t be an interesting life without a little bit of drama! Pluto—the planet of power, and transformation—reaches the last degree of Capricorn, on February 11. Known as the “anaretic degree,” the 29 degree is one of karmic completion, bringing the end of an era that began back when Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008!

Pluto will remain in this degree until March 23, before dipping into Aquarius and then going retrograde on May 1. During these months, we can expect accelerated change in all sorts of collective events. Since Pluto is in Capricorn, we can expect to see more shadow material being disclosed about corruption and the so-called Plutocracy, as well as the government. Dark themes around AI, technology, and air pollution will also play a role, due to Aquarian influence already creeping in. Later in the year, Pluto will return to this super-charged degree from June 11 to July 26, and then again from December 20 to January 20.

What’s even more interesting is that Pluto at the “anaretic degree” will overlap with Saturn, which will also be at the 29 degrees of Aquarius, from February 26 to March 7, which is when Saturn enters Pisces. During these days, stay alert for some shocking news rippling through the collective!

Pisces Season Begins

On February 18, the sun makes its annual entrance into Pisces, taking us to the end of the astrological year. Being the last sign of the zodiac wheel, Pisces brings themes of completion and collective oneness. Emotion, creativity, and spirituality also become more prominent for the next four weeks.

The second day of Pisces season blesses us with a gorgeous new moon. The luminaries unite at the very first degree of Pisces on Sunday, February 19 at 11:06 p.m. Pacific Time, just in time to still catch Venus in Pisces. This is a primed time to make considerable changes in our lives, to begin again! The configuration is ideal to take a chance and even a big risk. Whatever we begin now has the opportunity to last, as the luminaries will still be close to time-watcher Saturn in Aquarius.

Aries Stellium

The month ends with an unapologetic bang as the sky above us radiates incredible amounts of fire! February ends with an Aries stellium as Venus, Jupiter, Chiron, and asteroids Vesta and Juno occupy Mars-ruled Aries. February 22 and February 24 will be especially intense as the moon also travels through the flames of the sign of the Ram. Channel this energy by following through on your new moon intentions, as nothing can stop you now!
